Defense, running game carry Michigan past Penn State in Harbaugh's absence

In Week 11 of the 2023 college football season, we finally got the chance to see the Michigan Wolverines, ranked No. 3 in the College Football Playoff rankings, faced a ranked opponent. The No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions challenged Michigan, but, fell like every other Michigan opponent this season.

Without Jim Harbaugh not on the sideline, after being suspended on Friday in punishment for the ongoing sign-stealing scandal, Michigan turned to its overpowering run game to get its first win over a ranked opponent this season. The Wolverines ran the ball on the final 32 offensive plays. Blake Corum ran for 145 yards and two touchdowns while Michigan had 227 yards on the ground.
