Stock Slide Picks Up Steam. Dow Down 700 Points.


Stocks took a turn lower on Wednesday as Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell spoke at the Economic Club of Chicago.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 700 points, or 1.7%. The S&P 500 was down 2.5%. The Nasdaq Composite was down 3.5% as Powell took questions.

The yield on the 2-year Treasury note was down to 3.83%. The 10-year yield was down to 4.33%.
